Located in Papillion, NE, this retail building was designed for speculative retail tenants. The design was meant to provide maximum flexibility and efficiency for the owner. This resulted in a one story box of approximately 11,000 square feet.
The fact that the building is a box allowed for the architects to exploit the properties of that box through the use of line, corner and surface. Corners were celebrated as a dynamic condition and collision of materials. Signage elements on the building were treated as a series of surface layers overlapping and creating visual movements. Night lighting was done to accent the transparency and layering of materials.
