This desk was designed and fabricated by Brian while he was a member of the faculty of CalPoly San Luis Obispo. The base was made of re-purposed steel bars and c-channels. The top is a refinished studio desk that, in order to fit through the planar, had to be cut into two. The cut was used to celebrate the process and to re-insert the hidden springs found through the dis-assembly of the wood.
Upon moving back to the midwest, the base had to be left behind. It has found a new life as a patio table with a new top designed by Tom DiSanto.
